Her entire life, Julie has been involved in all types of arts; whether it was singing, dancing or playing the piano. At the age of 12, she took her first piano lesson. Her entire life, Julie has been involved in all types of arts; whether it was singing, dancing or playing the piano. At the age of 12, she took her first piano lesson. In 1992, she graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance where she studied under the direction of Betty Sue Tolbert-Smith. She was a member of the West Georgia College Concert Choir, a member of the Position One Dance Company and was a Gellerstedt Wright Scholar in both piano and composition.
In 1995, she began working in Music Ministry. For over 25 years, Julie has been a Worship Leader for several United Methodist churches. She has directed and was lead singer for the ALL for Him praise band. In 2004, she wrote a cantata, The Baby will show you the way and in 2005, The Matriarchs of Jesus the Son.
She has had the amazing opportunity to sing several times with Bill and Gloria Gather at Christ Church in Nashville under the director Landy Gardner.
After retiring from Music Ministry in 2020, Julie continues to fill in as a church pianist whenever needed.
Starting in 2020, Julie began accompanying for local High Schools and Middle Schools in the Paulding County School System. She usually performs over 6 concerts a year and accompanies several Middle School at the LGPE festivals.

In 2024, she became the President of the West Georgia Music Teachers Association, affiliated with the National Music Teachers Association where she works with other music teachers in the area to provide opportunities for students to perform.
In 2023, she became a Nationally Certified Piano Instructor through the National Music Teachers Association.
She is also a member of the Cobb County Music Teachers Association, the Coweta-Fayette Music Teachers Association, The Georgia Federation Music Club and the Piano Guild.
She is also a proud member of the Collegium Vocale Choral Group of Atlanta, under the direction of Dr. Kevin Hibbard. In 2022, a selected few went to New York to sing at Carnegie Hall.
After college, Julie worked with the West Georgia College Concert band and was a musical accompanist for Carroll County Community Theater. From 1992-1996, she performed in several productions for the community theater; City of Angels, Oklahoma, Smoke on the Mountain and Guy and Dolls. She continues to accompany many different venues.

She never lost that desire to perform; in 2020 she took her one woman shows on the road. She has performed all over Georgia. Some of her shows are "Gospel Song and Stories", "Love is in the Air", "Fabulous Female Artist from the 50's", "The Best of Broadway", "Proud to be an American", and of course her Christmas Show, "Christmas in July"
